Recap of the SUMMER!!

I have only been back in west africa for 2 weeks but i already am missing the southern alberta summers!! I think 75% of the conversations jeff and i have are about everything we did while we were home. We seriously had sooo much fun!! There really is nothing better than being home with family!! Here are some pictures of just a few of the awesome times we had this summer......

We got home right in time to get ready for my SIL's wedding. She looked absolutely stunning!! I was obessed with all her decorations! It seriously was such a perfect day!!

All the brothers looked dang sharp too. You would think i could get one decent picture of them.....nope!

Do we not have THE cutest nephews! Unfortunately i am missing a few but they all looked soo dang cute with their little bowties!!

We made our way up to hillspring just in time to celebrate July 1st. This is the one and only hillspring parade. Soo good that you actually get to see it twice. Once on the way down and once on the way back!! It actually was WAY better this year then it has been in years!! It was also our wards 100 year celebration so theres my dad with a bunch of the other old bishops and ward memebers!

My sister with the primary!

The famous program after the parade. This year it was called...."Famous people come from Hillspring." My little brother (on the right) and a bunch of his friends did a Willy Nelson number and Casen stole the show with his sweet harmonica skills!! It was SOO good!

A pic of us at the program.....

Only the biggest deal of the century.....THE Brew Off. Jeff only talks about this like once a week....ALL YEAR LONG! I never really understood the seriousness of the competition until i married into the gibb family. Now i swear its all that comsumes some of their minds! Unfortunately this year we gave up our winning title and it went to another cousin.....but for the record we swear we entered a bad bottle into the contest because both jeff and i think we had a darn good batch of root beer this year. We even had a judge say after they tasted it that it definitely wasn't the same brew we had in the competition. I guess we will have to wait till next year to prove ourselves again......

Summer isn't complete without a trip to Waterton...and a picture in front of Cameron Falls.

This may be my most favorite memory of this summer. We all were getting ready to go down to our river bottom to have a fire. All the sudden kristen starts playing "So Kiss Me" on the piano....then jeff grabs the guitar and joins in...everyone starts singing at the top of their lungs when my brother Casen walks in, not knowing the song at all, but joins right in on the trumpet and hitting every note perfectly. After the serious jam session we all were laughing sooo hard someone may or may not have peed their pants a little......

All us cousins down at the river bottom!!

Jeff trying to impress my brothers with his ONE match fire skills....they loved every minute of it.....

Me and my sisters!!

Words can not describe how fun it is to be at the river bottom with everyone!! Jeff unfortunately had to leave after this back to nigeria to work...and taking our camera with him. So this is where my pictures end. But we really had soo much fun being with everyone! There is just nothing better!!

looks like a great summer! I have to say though, that that is so funny that Jeff had to show off his fire making skills with one match thing, Shon did the EXACT same thing while we were in Canada, and wouldnt let anyone forget who was the best at starting a fire with one match! They MUST be related or something!

kels!! your post made me ache for canada! and its summers. this was a perfect post and i literally laughed out loud when you said jeff talks about the brew off once a week all year long. it truly is the life blood of our family. without the brew off, we wouldn't be this close.

also, i love your comment-good old wholesome paris porn. gotta love it. or at least brad did anyways, ha.

OH my gosh! I cannot believe how much our lives are the same!!! I have so much to comment on! My town does a parade that goes through once and turns around and comes again. Everyone makes fun of it. I thought it was normal until I met "city folks." I also thought Bagwells (my family) were the only ones that made homemade rootbeer!! We've never had a brew off with the great aunts, but it would be so fun! My mom makes it for all of us because we beg, but she's not even a "true Bagwell" so she doesn't like it.
Our parade features bishops and the like in it too.
No wonder we were quick friends in Lagos! Miss you guys so much! Oh and I noticed Jeff wearing the Tasty Fried hat. Levin's is getting tattered from too much use.
