Well were still here in Douala, Cameroon. When i said we were only planning on being here a month i actually ment probably till june if we're lucky. Got to love "africa time!" Instead of complaining about how long it takes to get ANYTHING done, i'll just say that if i dont master being patient here there is no way i ever will. Anyways here are just a few of the things we have been up to lately....
-We spent a sat. in Kribi. I am seriously obsessed with this place. Its an absolutely gorgeous, super laid back fishing village right on the beach. And to top it all off it has some of the best seafood i've ever had (which says a lot from a girl who usually hates it). Jeff spent the day fixing a few machines we have parked there while i spent the day here...reading Hunger Games and watching kids play soccer......
Not fair i know. He did get a small break to joined me on the beach for lunch though. It really was a perfect day and i already can not wait to go back.
- While going on a nice little walk one day we came accros this....
Yes Jeff was beyond embarrassed when i made him stand in front of it so i could take a picture....and im sure me laughing my face off didn't help....but still if your having "issues" and need a good specialist we know someone who is VERY professional.
-Remember when i said cooking in our little place was like cooking over an open fire...i was not kidding......
And this is seriously on low. We may have had our fair share of crispy meals.
- This building is just right down the road from our place. I am soo curious every time i walk by it because i have only seen one woman and always a ton of little kids that live here. The kids always love waving and yelling "hee haw" at us. Yup they think we are chinese - that's what they call chinese here - i guess they call it like they hear it. hahaha! They still are the cutest though. And no i dont think the little girl knew she was flashing me....
- We celebrated my 23rd bday last week! Im offically an old hag. But my lovely husband surprized me with these...
Then he took me out for indian food the night before since my bday was a sunday. It of course was delish. If you have never had indian before PLEASE do. And order butter chicken. I promise you will not regret one second of it. And i really haven't gone buck bald, its just the pic i promise...
- This is us at church on my bday. I was soo excited to wear my new dress a lady in the ward made me. I think she did such an amazing job. I can't get over all the embroidery work she did. I bought the material for like $15 and she charged $12 dollars to make the whole thing. That also includes the tip i gave her. Its amazing how people can live on soo little.
Anyways just a few of the highlights we've had over the past couple weeks! We are still taking french lessons. I can say a few small sentences and Jeff can talk to people on the phone in french. We are learning...slowly but surely.....

Love the hemorrhoid picture, I seriously couldn't stop laughing, poor Jeff.
I am laughing my head off at your saying "no I haven't gone buck bald." I hadn't scrolled down to see the picture yet and I was thinking being buck bald had something to do with liking Indian food. Ha. Love the pictures and the post! Sometimes it seems so unreal that we lived in Africa and reading your posts reminds me it was. Although you guys have a lot more adventures than we ever did. And I'm glad Jeff survived his wild day in the jungle (your previous post). What a nightmare for both of you!
i promise, i am jelous of all your adventures. what would i pay, to sit at the beach all day and read the hunger games. lets switch places for a week!
love the dress, ask that lady if shell make me one too!
