Home for the Holidays

So it really has been a coons age since i posted last. I guess it has just been soo nice to be home that i haven't even thought twice about it. But we seriously have had SOOO much freakin fun being home with the fam. I really cherish every single moment with them especially since i feel like i am missing soo much at home by living so far away. This picture is from my front porch, how can you not LOVE this place.......there truly is not a more beautiful place on the earth!!

Anyways we flew home just in time for American Thanksgiving with the Gibb fam. All i remember is gaining about 10 lbs a day - soo much good food in that house and it doesn't help that usually the first week or 2 we get back everything taste absolutely glorious. We really forget that food actually tastes good so we cant say no to anything. Pure gluttony i tell ya!! Then we made our way north to Hillspring for Christmas. Definitely the high light of Christmas was our huge snow cave we all made. All of my brothers and sisters suited up and went to town on this giant snow pile my dad made with the tractor.

Jeff made all the kids call him commander and they were all his soliders. They seriously would do whatever he told them to do. The look on his face tells you how serious of a project this was.....

I never would have thought hollowing out this cave would be soo physically demanding but all of us woke up in the morning barely able to roll out of bed we were soooo sore. Muscles in my arms i didn't even know existed hurt...in the end it was well worth it though!

It ended up taking us about 2 afternoons to hollow out the pile but we finished and celebrated by having a sleepover in it Christmas eve night. We hauled out 3 air mattresses and a ton of blankets/sleeping bags and easily fit 6 of us in it. Surprisingly we all keep pretty darn warm. It was 0'C inside and about -15 or so outside. It was soo much fun though...a Christmas eve to remember that's for sure. We woke up Christmas morning giddy as little school girls. I love having brother and sister that still believe in Santa!! Here is just a few random pics....

New gloves from grandma's pinata

My grandma has made us Christmas pj's every year since i was born. But every year it's still such a surprise. We seriously open them up like we have no clue what is inside.

I know this is a random pic but it was soo funny. Taylor got this little helicopter thingy that you pull a string and it flys into the air. He held it to close to his face and sliced his lip. He thought he was going to die until he put a bandaid on it and all the sudden it was 100% better although he still left it on all night and almost won't take it off the next morning haha!

Got to love how the whole living room instantly fills up with wrapping paper, boxes, games and toys in mins.

There seriously is no better holiday!!

Hey Kelsey! I saw your mom yesterday at Jennica's B-Ball game and she gave me your blog address. I had fun reading it. What an amazing adventure! We heard all about the BIG igloo. So much fun! Had to laugh so hard at Taylor's bandaid. Too funny!
