So I know the olympic torch went through southern AB like a week or so ago but that just goes to show how bad i suck at keeping my blog updated. But it was too funny, the kids ( aka all my brothers and sisters) would track the torch every night just waiting for it to get to here. Sunday night before we all went to bed we saw it was going to be running through Standoff which is the most ghetto indian reserve about 20 mins from our house. So we literally woke up monday morning at the crack of dawn, picked up my grandma and raced to get there before 7:00am. We stood in the FREEZING cold wind on this corner just waiting to see the torch come down the hill. All we expected was a single man running holding up the torch but all the sudden this full fledge parade comes down the hill. There was a truck pulling around this mini pow-wow. Tons of natives all dresses in there traditional clothing singing and dancing. There was horses pulling a wagon with the chief and a few other people in it. It really was soo cool. Behind it all the torch came running down the hill. The kids were all soo excited. We even all ran beside it for a little while until some camera man with the thickest english accent stepped in horse crap in front of us and about lost it. We couldn't stop laughing at him. Anyways i guess you dont see the olympic torch too often so it was a very cool once in a life time thing. We will all definitely remember it!
